The Lodge
Afan lodge is the realised dream of husband and wife Richard and Louise Davies. Both local to the Valley and avid biking enthusiasts, they’ve embarked on transforming the old miners institute into a well needed hotel for outdoor lovers to experience the world famous mountain bike trails, walks and wonders of the Afan Valley. “This area has recently been recognised as one of the top 10 mountain bike resorts in the world”.

A warm welcome awaits you
Re-developed in 2009, the lodge is a family run establishment that prides itself in making all our guests as welcome and comfortable as possible. The social hub of the lodge has to be the bar area, where guests can relax in front of the inglenock fire and watch the flat screen television or snuggle up in a cosy hide away with a book, or simply lounge around on the sofas and chat about what adventures have been had that day.

A place you'll never forget
The lodge is situated bang in the middle of the Afan Valley, one of the narrowest, shortest, and most beautiful valleys in Wales known locally as “little Switzerland”, being about 15 miles long from its head at Bwlch yr Afan, to the sea at Aberavon Beach, Port Talbot. The park itself nestles on the valley slopes and includes the communities of Duffryn, Cymmer ,Pontrhydyfen, and Glyncorrwg as well as 11,000 hectares of forest - from windswept hilltops to glistening green valleys.
